What, Why and When?

1. What will the bank’s new name be?

Our new bank name will be Platinum Bank. This name portrays our commitment to provide our customers with superior service—platinum-level banking. We’ve also created a new logo that includes a stylized “P”, which will help identify Platinum Bank throughout the market.

2. Why is TexStar selling this location?

The sale represents a “win-win” situation for all involved. It allows TexStar Bank to focus its energies in the other markets that it serves. It allows existing TexStar Lubbock customers the opportunity to continue to work with and be served by the same employees that they have come to rely upon. It allows Platinum Bank the opportunity to bring a new level of energy and service to the Lubbock community.

3. When will the change be effective?

Platinum Bank will open on Monday, June 25, 2007. TexStar will continue to operate this location through the close of business on Friday, June 22, 2007. The bank’s drive-in will be closed on Saturday, June 23, 2007 to facilitate the conversion from TexStar to Platinum Bank.

Here’s how accounts will be affected:

4. Will my account numbers change?

No. Your account numbers will remain the same.

5. Do I have to get new checks?

Yes. Here’s what will happen with your checks:

If you order checks through the bank:
    • New checks have been ordered for you—at no charge to you.
• Your checks will be the same style as your current checks, and will start at the next reorder number.
Your checks will arrive at the bank—not in your mail.
• Beginning June 19th, you may come by the bank to pick up your new checks. If you cannot pick them up, we can arrange delivery.
Please bring your old TexStar checks to be destroyed.
• We have a Platinum Bank gift waiting for you, as our way of saying “thank you” for working with us during this transition.

If you order checks through a third party, or you print your own checks, please contact Heather West at (806) 792-5300 to make arrangements for temporary checks for use on or after June 25, 2007.

6. Do I have to get a new debit card or ATM card?

Yes. Here’s what will happen with your debit or ATM card:

  • If you have a debit or ATM card, you will receive a Platinum Bank ATM card in the mail prior to June 25th.
• A new PIN will be sent by separate mailer.
• Debit cards will not be available for another 30 days. Your debit card will be sent automatically once it is    issued. Therefore, please use the ATM card until you receive the new debit card.
• The ATM card may be used for cash withdrawals as well as point-of-sale purchases using your new PIN.    The card may not be used for signature transactions.
Please begin using the Platinum Bank ATM card on June 25th. Your old TexStar Visa debit card and    TexStar ATM card will not work as of June 18, 2007.

7. Will payments continue to be automatically deducted from my account?

No*. Any loan payments or automatic drafts, such as insurance or utilities, will need to be set up again with the vendor, using Platinum Bank information—see below. Please contact the company to make arrangements for the new payment routing to Platinum Bank.

*Loan payments from Platinum Bank deposit accounts on Platinum Bank loans will continue without interruption. No action is required on your part.

8. Do I need to change my direct deposit of payroll or social security?

Yes. Please contact the depositor and provide Platinum Bank’s information—see below.

9. I use online banking and bill pay. Do I need to get a new password and set up my payments again?

Yes. We have included an application for online banking with Platinum Bank. You will need to complete and submit an application, so that we can enable your access to Platinum Bank online banking. The first time you log on, you will be prompted to set a new user name and password. Bill pay vendors will need to be re-entered.

Because the bank will transition on June 25th, it is important that existing bill payments be scheduled to clear
no later than June 22nd
. Your existing TexStar online banking information will remain available for viewing
for 30 days after the transition.
